Trend: Side Panel Tuxedo Trousers

Side panel tuxedo trousers have been around for a while now but I have yet to invest in a pair. I really like this trend as the vertical stripe down the side of the trousers instantly has a desirable slimming effect. The positioning of the stripe creates an illusion that makes your legs appear longer and leaner. This results in the person wearing the trousers looking slimmer. It is no surprise then that celebrities, such as Blake Lively, Jessica Alba, Olivia Palermo and Miranda Kerr, have strongly embraced this trend. These four ladies are some of my favourite, and in my personal opinion, some of the most stylish celebs around.

As you can see from the pictures, these trousers are available in a variety of styles ranging from super skinny to tailored, so there really is a style for everyone. Even more importantly, this style is versatile as it can be worn both to the office and when socializing with friends. Of course not everyone has access to, or can afford, the creations of some of the best designers in the world so I have found some fab high street versions that won’t break the bank.

Forever 21:

Forever 21 is always a good bet for being spot on trend at the right price. These are just two of the many pairs of side panel tuxedo trousers they have available online. Both of these are priced between €20-€22. I really like the white and black pair and they will be perfect for summer, but for some reason it is the second pair, the skinny capri’s that I am drawn to.

Mandee:

For those of you lucky enough to have access to a Mandee store, they have this fab monochrome pair so you can embrace two trends at once! I really like these and at $24 the price is excellent as always. I really like Mandee, and it is always a must stop shop for me whenever I am in America. I recently had a look at their S/S’13 Lookbook and they have so many great pieces that I am currently lusting after. This mint green shirt dress is just one of the pieces I have my eye on, as well as some fab shorts and flats.
