The Governors Ball 2015

I couldn’t let my first experience of The Governors Ball go by without a little recap post now I could I? If you follow me on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat – lcscloset) you may have seen that the girls (Ciara, Erika and Ruth) and I went to the Governors Ball on Sunday.

If you are wondering what the Governors Ball is, it’s basically New York’s answer to Coachella.

We made total a last minute decision to go, and I’m so happy we did. It was such a fun day! The festival started on Friday, but we were all working (sadface) and the line up wasn’t the best on Saturday, so we decided to save ourselves for Sunday…

We kicked off the day with a boozy brunch in the girls apartment, before setting off for Randall’s Island (the island between Manhattan and Queens where the concert was on). It was such a perfect day for a festival… Clear blue skies and it was hot too (just how I like it).

Of course the festival fashion was on point. It’s so much easier to plan outfits when you know you don’t have to worry about rain, and it’s always fun to get in the festival spirit and mix up my style.

Highlight of the day was without a doubt Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. I LOVE Oasis (their Slane 2009 gig is still one of the best concerts I have ever been to) so this was a must see for me. The girls didn’t really have too high expectations but this was the highlight of the day for them too. Their own material is really good, but it was the Oasis classics that made it for me!! I was one very happy camper.

The biggest disappointment was Lana Del Rey. I know she doesn’t exactly have the loudest tunes but we couldn’t hear a thing. It was still such a fun day and the weather was so beautiful. Next year we will definitely try to make the whole weekend (if we can get the time of work of course!). My outfit was a complete last minute decision. Thank god I picked this little kimono up in a H&M sale a few weeks ago. It’s so perfect for a festival. As always, you’ll find my outfit details below.

Hope you’re having a good week,

Lorna x
