Blue Shorts

I finally decided to listen to my body and spend the day in bed. It’s funny, before I moved here I loved spending Sundays at home chilling out. We’d have a Sunday roast, I’d bake dessert, walk my dogs, and watch TV. It was a completely relaxed day. In New York it’s so different. I am riddled with guilt at the thought of wasting a day in bed or in my apartment.

You’re always on the go here. There’s so much to do and see, and of course there is always that never ending list of restaurants to try. These are some of the many things I love about New York. But today I really had to stop and just relax, take a break and have my first real Netflix marathon ever (I’m not even joking!!)…

I’ve a big week coming up too. It’s a short week because 4th of July is next weekend, so we’re off Friday (WHOOP WHOOP!!!). Ciara, Erika and I are taking advantage of the long weekend and road tripping to Cape Cod. I can’t wait to get some beach time in my life (the last time was in Miami) and have a little break from the beautiful chaos of NYC.

A quick few words on my outfit here. The struggle when it comes to dressing for work in the New York summer is well and truly real. What’s work appropriate? What’s too short? Do I need a jacket? Is it going to rain? Is it windy (we don’t want any Marilyn moments en route to work!)? I’m finding shorts to be my best friend. Just add a dressy top and you’re good to go. 🙂

These blue shorts are from Primark/Penneys. Penneys really is THE best for stuff like this. I know I say it all the time (and I listed it in my things I miss about Ireland post too), but you really don’t appreciate Penneys until you don’t have it!! As always, all my outfit details are below.
