Happy Friday… It’s hard to believe it’s only 4 weeks until I go home for Christmas – especially when it’s 16 degrees in the middle of November! Not that I’m complaining. In New York you really do need 4 different wardrobes, and these temperatures have meant I’ve been getting extra wear out of my autumn/fall pieces. I’ve been living in my collection of sleeveless blazers and the one I’m wearing here is my latest purchase (similar pieces here, here & here). I love simple tailored pieces like this, and what makes it even better is that it was an absolute bargain in the Banana Republic sales (I do love a good bargain!!)…
If you follow me on Snapchat (lcscloset) you might have seen that I went to an NUI Galway Alumni event earlier this week. I had been to the same event this time last year with Erika and the presidents wife actually remembered us and had been wondering how the year had panned out. I know I mentioned this in my Take Some Credit post a few weeks ago, but it really hit home just how far both of us have come in such a short time. That’s the thing about New York… anything can happen here, but it doesn’t come easy.
The thing you don’t see behind all the Instagram’s and Snapchat’s is just how hard it actually is here, especially when you first arrive. Those first few weeks when you are trying to find your feet, get an apartment and a job are so so hard! It’s such a stressful and uncertain time (and one I definitely don’t want to go back), but somehow (with a lot of hard work and determination) everything has a way of working out… You just gotta keep at it!!
Have a great weekend,
