Inspired by Mum

Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely mothers out there. Where would we be without them? In honour of Mother’s Day, House of Fraser is running an “Inspired by Mum” competition and they invited me to create a look inspired by my mother. I am really lucky because my mother has great style, so I jumped at the chance to raid her wardrobe. I am constantly told about how much I look like her (I mean everyday) and even after having 10 children, she still has an amazing figure, so I can easily borrow her clothes if I ever need to.

Out of all of the clothes in my mothers wardrobe, this neon and cream print jacket is my absolute fav. This jacket was available in Dorothy Perkins last year and I actually wanted it myself but it was a bit pricey. I was saving for Australia at the time so I really couldn’t justify buying it. 🙁 A few weeks later, my mother needed a jacket to complete a wedding outfit and I suggested this. It matched her outfit perfectly and I was delighted when she bought it because I knew I would be borrowing it myself 😉 I just LOVE the colours and the pattern. This jacket is a little too big for me as I have the smallest little shoulders but I still try to get away with it. Here I wore it with an all white look to let the jacket really standout. I’m also wearing my nude strappy heels that are just amazing. I have worn these so much and I’d highly recommend them as they are so comfy and make your legs look très long. 🙂

I love the size of this DKNY bag and the neutral colours are so perfect. This is a real investment piece that I would be able to wear time and time again, and would be perfect for this look. I know my mother would also love this bag.

I love statement watches. As you already know, I have a fab Michael Kors one (see it here) that I love. I am afraid I’ll ruin it if I constantly wear it though, so I have my eye on this DKNY watch to mix it up a little. I think it’s fab and would be perfect to complete this look. Everyone needs a good watch and this one is so simple, elegant and really timeless. I LOVE IT!!
