It’s the time of year again… Where I start to look back on the last 12 months as I prepare to take on the next 12 months. I honestly can’t believe we’re at the end of 2016. I know everyone says it every year, but this really feels like it was the fastest 12 months ever!!
Over the past 12 months, I’ve shared a lot of different looks I absolutely love here on my blog and over on my Instagram (@lcscloset). So to finish the year I wanted to create a post highlighting my absolute favourites. For me an outfit is so much more than just the items of clothing put together.
I have studied fashion (and justified my study of fashion) on a whole other level and every time I always come back to thinking about how our clothes and what we wear or own gives us a different level of confidence and allows us to communicates something about who we are without us ever speaking. It’s really powerful and I do truly believe this. I think nothing compares to just how amazing you feel when you’re wearing an outfit you truly love… And here are my top 5 looks from 2016 that I posted here on the blog and did feel truly amazing wearing.
1. Outfit For My Brother’s Wedding
As I mentioned in my original post, this was a super last minute outfit put together with pieces I already had in my wardrobe, but I love it so much!! The dress is still available here too.
2. February Fashion Week Outfit
I adore this look (see the original post here)!!! I know it sounds SO unbelievably cheesy, but I felt so powerful or something wearing this outfit. It was another last minute outfit because it was beyond freezing and snowing and so wasn’t prepared. Believe it or not I was wearing thermals under my culottes and shirt (along with a jacket and coat), but lucky it still worked. Phew! Oh the glam Fashion Week life (L!O!L!).
3. Gold Sequin Top
A more recent look, I’m surprised at just how much I loved this outfit because I’m don’t usually wear sequins but this top is honestly perfection. A piece I’m gonna have in my wardrobe for many party seasons to come. See the full look here.
4. My Friends Wedding in Ohio
Another wedding outfit makes the cut. I adore 60s style, so when I saw this Missguided Dress, I had to have it. Looking back at this picture, I think my hair was may be a little too severe on me with the sharp centre parting (a softer parting would have been perfect) but I still LOVE this dress and it’s still available too.
5. Furry Coat
Finally, another recent look that I absolutely loved wearing. I love this furry Primark jacket so much more than I imagined and it is SO warm – just what I need as the temperatures have taken a severe dip in New York. I’m also still obsessed with my Aritzia leggings. I mean it when I say these babies work wonders.
