Happy Thursday Day! This week is absolutely flying by and I need it to slow the hell the down! I’m obviously beyond excited to be going home for Christmas in TWO DAYS (YAAAAY!), but I still feel like I haven’t soaked up enough of the New York Christmassy things (believe it or not). It’s been a hectic week though. Last night we had our Secret Santa dinner (it was so much fun and I’m sure I’ll be up on Erika’s vlog later today) and tonight I have my work Holiday Party. I also haven’t even thought about what I’m going to bring home with me (surprise surprise). But it’ll get done… It always gets done.

In the mean time, it’s time for another Christmas in New York post. Today I’m taking you to the some of the famous Christmas Windows at Lord & Taylor. I personally love the Lord & Taylor windows because for the second year in a row they have turned some super ugly scaffolding into one or the prettiest Christmas scenes in the city. Talk about making good out of the bad.

When it comes to the windows, they are all so different and I really do try to see them all. In New York Christmas Windows are big business ($$$), so a full 12 months of planning goes into them every year. Just as one set is revealed, work starts on next years windows right away – kinda crazy right? Every year every store picks a theme for their windows (this year Lord & Taylor’s is Enchanted Forest), but they definitely have their own unique themes on what type of window display you can expect too. Barney’s are always a bit weird. Bergdorf’s are the super high end OTT windows with the most impeccable attention to detail you’ll ever see. Saks are beautiful designer windows that are kinda fun too. Lord & Taylor are more for the whole family, as are Macy’s. Now that I’m typing this, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen the Bloomingdale’s windows but I’d imagine they’re similar to Saks. So there really is something for everyone…

The windows really are a very New York Christmas thing to do, so I had to shoot a Christmas look here. These photos were taken was last weekend when the temperatures decided to take a major dip out of absolutely nowhere – It was FREEZING! As I am absolutely refusing to wear my ugly (but unbelievably warm) down coat before Christmas, I lived in my new faux fur coat from Penneys/Primark. That’s right, my coat is Penneys!! Can you believe it? Primark opened a new store in Burlington near Boston last week and I actually can’t wait until they open store closer to Manhattan next year.

Also, let’s quickly chat about my watch. Can you believe this is the same one I’ve been wearing in all my recent posts? When I got this watch I originally got the watch with a mesh strap. But the straps are interchangeable, so I picked up a black leather strap too and when I changed the straps, it’s a completely different watch. So effectively for $29 extra dollars, I got 2 watches in one. Such a steal.

Hope you’re having a good week,
