Happy Monday guys… I’m super excited about this Monday because it’s my last work Monday before Christmas!! I love New York and my job, but I am so looking forward to a slower pace of life (having a car) and a little break from work for 2 and a half weeks. To be honest, the end of year burn out is kinda starting to creep up on me, so I know this break will be just what the Doctor ordered!

I’m kicking off this week with my next Christmas in New York post. This time I am at the most iconic of Christmas in New York sites – at the Rockefeller Center around the Rockefeller tree. You simply cannot spend time in New York around this time of year without going to visit the tree. Spectacular, amazing, incredible, magical, out of this world, beautiful, magnificent, breathtaking… I could go on and on! These are just some of the adjectives I’d use to describe the tree and I am not exaggerating here. It is everything you’d expect it to be, and more! I have only been twice since it was lit nearly 2 weeks ago, so I’ll have to make 1 or 2 more trips before I go home…

One thing though – the crowds can (and probably will) be absolutely chaotic. So to combat this, I always try to get to the tree early in the morning (around 9am), at night (after 8pm – maybe even 9pm) or when it’s raining (it’ll usually be quiet). If you can’t get there at any of these stages, brave the crowds. It’ll be worth it – Trust me on this one! It’s one of those things you’ll never tire of seeing and that you can never have too many pictures of – ok that may be just me, but you get how amazing it is!

Now a quick few words about my look before we kick off the week. This is what I like to call my “business in the front, party in the back coat.” I do love a good statement coat (see here and here), so when I saw this one on SheIn.com – I had to have it. I’m not sure how practical it is for the New York winter though. This weekend was absolutely freezing here and it has made me very very scared for what lies ahead. We had our first snow today too, so if it’s bad as they say it’s gonna be, I’m going to get as much wear as possible out of my coat collection before I have to pull out the hideous down coat.

Hope you have a good week,

Lorna x
