Hey guys! For the first time in what feels like forever, I’m sharing a proper outfit post and having a little chat/life update. I’m not really sure if the title of this post makes sense, but hopefully it’ll all be clear by the end.

It’s been a busy few months to say the least with my trips to Australia and Bali (I actually vlogged my trips and will be sharing them throughout the month – I just have to launch my YouTube first!!!). I feel like this year is absolutely flying by (doesn’t it feel like time goes faster every year??) and to be totally honest, I feel like I haven’t achieved or even started working towards anything I really wanted to do in 2017…

I feel like I’ve been so unproductive here on the blog, and with life in general I guess, since I came back to New York after Christmas. I don’t really know how to describe it, but it was like I had outgrown my space in New York when I came back after spending Christmas at home. All of a sudden everything in my life just seemed cluttered (for want of a better word). Space is one of the major luxuries in here in New York and cluttered really is the only word I can use to describe it. It was like the clutter was having such a subconscious impact on me that I genuinely couldn’t focus and had zero motivation to do anything in the evenings or at the weekend. I think this started to impact my mood too and I now know it 100% stemmed from not having enough space. Isn’t that totally crazy??

Anyway, that all changed two weeks ago when I moved into a bigger space in my apartment (I’m still in the same apartment). With that one small change, suddenly it was like this weight was lifted. That cluttered feeling was gone and my mood was instantly better. My mindset just completely changed. I know it’s such a small change but it’s made such a difference, and sometimes it really is those small changes that have such a huge impact…

I really don’t know why I’m even writing this, or if I’m actually making sense but I’m hoping this is the turning point I need to start working on my 2017 goals. I’m a firm believer in the it’s “never too late ethos”. It’s one of the reasons I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions. It’s never too late to get started and if I really want to make a change I’ll be able to do it anytime of the year, not just in January.

A quick note on my outfit here before I let you go. How perfect is my coat for spring? I am literally living in it at the moment. Very nicely co-ordinated with my shoes and the seasonal cherry blossoms. This was my first time shooting my birthday pressie too! I’m still as obsessed as the day I opened it.

Hope you have a fab weekend,

Lorna xx

p.s. My Friday Five posts will be making a come back too.
