Happy Monday… And Happy Halloween Eve (is that even a thing?). I was super boring this weekend and didn’t get dressed up but let’s face it, we all know Christmas is my true time to shine. I do love seeing all of the amazing costumes though. My favourite this year has to be my friend Louise who absolutely killed it!
I did however take my new double breasted check coat out for it’s first wear this weekend and I am SO happy I decided to get this. I know the last thing I need is a new coat, but I just love them and can’t help myself. Fun fact… If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll probably find this hard to believe, but I moved to New York 3 years ago without any coats and now I’ve built up quite the collection!
I think my love for coats come from my days working in the betting ring at the races in Ireland. Coats were my best friend (racecourses are THE coldest places in Ireland!!) and I needed a lot of them to mix and match my looks. Ever since then, I can’t resist investing in a few new ones every year.
I have to admit I wasn’t 100% sure if I could pull off the check print, but I can confirm this is one of those classic prints that is gonna suit absolutely everyone. I’ve shared a few of my fav check coats on the market in the handy little widget above. I already have my eye on a few more bits to beef up the check section in wardrobe for the winter months too.
