Happy Monday! Hope you all got the week off to a good start. Thanksgiving is fast approaching here in New York (it’s this Thursday and I can’t wait to experience it) and of course the countdown is well and truly on for Christmas. In New York a major thing for Christmas is the Christmas Windows. They are incredible (well the ones that have been revealed so far) and all of the big department stores try to out do each other. Lord & Taylor and Bergdorf Goodman have already revealed their 2014 windows and I have been lucky enough to check them both out.
The unveiling of the windows is a MAJOR deal here. Erika and I were slightly late for the Lord & Taylor ones so we missed the actual performances but we still got to experience all of the events inside the store, stock up on some (ridiculously delicious) hot chocolate and see the windows. Last Monday we made it in time to check out the show at Bergdorf Goodman. It was AH-MAZING! I’m talking fireworks (YES FIREWORKS!), entertainment, champagne, sweet treats, and of course the spectacular windows. If you follow me on Snapchat (lcscloset) you may have seen my videos with a glimpse of the fireworks and Christmas carols? If you don’t, be sure to add me (username: lcscloset) to keep up with my adventures. I also shared a pic on my Instagram (@lcscloset) and Facebook pages, but that wasn’t enough. The windows were so amazing I thought I’d do a full post to show you guys.
So here it is… The theme this year is “The Arts”, and there is a Christmas window to represent every form of art. It starts with The Literature and wraps right around the building with Architecture, Theatre, Painting, Music, Dance, Sculpture, and Film. The windows are a work of art in their own right. If I’m being honest, the pictures don’t really do them justice. The detail and their true beauty could never really be captured in an image. I was actually chatting to the designer of the Music window and he was just in awe. He really couldn’t believe the masterpiece he had created.
I hope you guys like them,
