I have a super quick post to kick off the week. If you follow me on social media, you’ll know I was at the Belmont Races last Friday – hope you got a laugh from the drunk Snapchats… I need to lock my phone away when I’m drinking.

Anywho, I wanted to share the details of my look. I’m not gonna lie, I struggled with this one a bit. I love going to a big day at the races (like Ladies Day or any day at The Galway Races) because it’s the perfect excuse to go all out. But it wasn’t really that kind of race day. So my struggle – I needed to be races appropriate, work appropriate (it was a work event after all) and weather appropriate (it was 35 degrees and probably closer to 50 with the humidity). So this wasn’t an easy task.

It also didn’t help that I had an idea of what I wanted to wear in my head, and I wasn’t letting it go (surely I’m not the only person who does this?). The internet let me down badly and of course the shops are full of crappy sales bits, so after the biggest shopping fail attempt on Wednesday evening, I finally got this pleated skirt in & Other Stories at 8:30pm on Thursday night. Fashion crisis averted and it worked out perfectly – phew (I amn’t half dramatic am I?)!! Next time I will be more prepared though.

I know The Galway Races are just around the corner at home (I’m super jealous I’ll be missing them again) and there’s loads of other Ladies Day’s happening, so if you need some ideas for races outfits, I created a this inspiration post with loads of options last week.

Have a great week,
