Checkerboard print has been very popular lately, with celebrities like Jessica Alba, Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Stewart spotting wearing this chic clean cut geometric print. This really is no surprise as the checkerboard print dominated the Louis Vuitton SS’13 runway and incorporates two trends – the ever popular and oh so fashionable monochrome trend and the 60’s mod trend.
Kirsten Stewart was the first celeb to embrace this print when she wore a LV playsuit on the Breaking Dawn Part 2 promotional tour in Tokyo, just weeks after the print debuted on the catwalk in Paris. Shortly after that Hailee Steinfeld wore another playsuit for her Sweet 16. Then on January 8th Kerry Washington sported this trend on the red carpet for the Django Unchained premiere in Berlin, wearing the print in muted white-and-tan. January 12th saw Kirsten Dunst wear head-to-toe checks in white-and-brown at the 2013 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, and most recently, Jessica Alba made sure she stood out on the red carpet at the In Style and Warner Bros. Golden Globe afterparty in a gorgeous graphic black-and-white Louis Vuitton sequined sheath dress.
