The most anticipated night of the Hollywood year took place in LA last night as the biggest names in Tinseltown wore their finest couture for the Academy Awards. The style was hotly anticipated and it certainly did not disappoint. The gowns were AMAZING. Even those who were not lucky enough to attend the event were not outdone in the style stakes as they upped their game to attend the likes of Elton John’s viewing party or the Vanity Fair after party. Here are my top looks from the final ceremony of award season.
Jennifer Lawrence, who took home the Oscar for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook, looked amazing in her strapless Dior Haute Couture gown. She is the new face of Dior handbags so I did expect her to wear a gown from this brand and she has also worn Dior to all the major awards ceremonies this award season. I loved the diamonds she added to compliment her gown, especially the long necklace that draped down her back. After the Oscars ceremony Jennifer changed into this beautiful dress from the Michael Kors Collection. I think both looks are FAB!
Amy AdamsAmy Adams, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, also stunned in her powder blue princess dress by Oscar de la Renta. I loved this when I saw her walk down the red carpet. She also changed into another beautiful Oscar de la Renta gown for the Vanity Fair Party.
Jessica ChastainNominated for Best Actress for the second year in a row, this picture does not even do justice to how stunning this Armani Privé gown is. The beads on this dress were aligned in such a way that complimented Jessica’s curves to perfection. Jessica also changed gowns for the Vanity Fair but I’m really a fan of her second dress.
Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts was also nominated for Best Actress and also wore Armani Privé. Again I LOVED this dress. It really stood out, the design was different and it wasn’t like anything else on the red carpet and most importantly she looked AMAZING. Her husband Lieb Schrieber couldn’t takes his eyes off her and was even snapped taking pictures of her himself on the red carpet. Naomi also had another dress for the after parties, but again it wasn’t to my taste.
Sandra Bullock
A former Oscar winner herself, Sandra Bullock wore this stunning black Elie Saab gown. The sheerness of the dress only highlighted its opulent and ample embellishments.
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried wore this beautiful embellished gown by Alexander McQueen. Apparently, 2 hours before the ceremony Amanda’s Les Miserables co-star Anne Hathaway heard Amanda was wearing this gown, which was similar to the Valentino gown she was originally supposed to wear so she changed her mind and wore a Prada dress.
Charlize Theron
Charlize wore this stunning white Dior gown. Dior is a brand I associate with Charlize because she is also the face of some of their products and regularly wears their Couture gowns. This was a brave choice due to the colour of the gown and the fact that it had a train but she looked amazing and is really working that hair style.
Jennifer Garner
Supporting her husband, Ben Affleck, and presenting an award, Jennifer Garner looked fantastic in this beautiful plum coloured Gucci gown. I loved the jewels she paired with this dress. They had a real vintage feel and complimented the dress perfectly.
Halle Berry
Halle Berry has never disappointed on the red carpet at the Oscars. She wore possibly one of the most famous Oscar dresses of all time, when she won her Oscar in 2001 and last night she continued the tradition with this glittery Versace dress! LOVE!!!
Stacy Kiebler
Supporting her partner, George Clooney, Stacy Kiebler was a stand out in this spectacular black and silver Erte-inspired gown from Naeem Khan’s outstanding fall 2013 collection.
Catherine Zeta Jones
A former Oscar winner, Catherine was in attendance with her husband Michael Douglas. Both presented awards and Catherine performed a hit from the musical Chicago, for which she won her Oscar for best supporting actress 10 years ago. She wore this gorgeous golden Zuhair Murad gown.
Adele
I love how down to earth Adele is. She won an Oscar for best song in a motion picture and really seemed in awe of the whole experience last night. Yet when it came to her performance she made it look so effortless. She wore this fab Jenny Packham gown. I love that she stayed true to her roots and chose a British designer.
Jennifer Hudson
Former Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson showed off her new slim figure in this sequinned Roberto Cavalli gown. She also performed ‘You’re Gonna Love Me’ from the movie Dreamgirls.
Alicia Vikander
Alicia Vikander wore this unreal Elie Saab Couture gown. She looks incredible.
The following ladies weren’t at the actual Oscars ceremony but I loved the gowns they chose for the after parties.
Lily Collins
Lily Collins stunned in this violet beaded Couture gown by Zuhair Murad at the Vanity Fair Party. One of my favs from the night.
Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev looked amazing, as usual, in this Naeem Khan creation.
Rose Byrne
Rose Byrne in Lanvin.
Alison Williams
Emma Roberts
Emma Roberts in Oscar De La Renta.
Who was your favourite on the night?
