My name is Lorna and I am a super pale Irish girl trying to blend in with the pavement around Gramercy Park. Seriously… could I be any paler in these pics? Now I get why American’s used to say “girl you need to get yourself some sun” to me on my summer trips to New York. Thankfully, I’ve just had some Miami time, so I’ve ditched the paleness and have started working on my summer glow. 🙂
I know there is always fake tan, but that’s just too much effort when you’re trying to run out the door to work on the first really hot day of the year. That’s exactly what happened here. I’ve been working around Gramercy Park for nearly 5 months (why is the time going so fast?) and have wanted to shoot here since day one. It is so unbelievably pretty, as I’m sure you have seen if you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (usernames: @lcscloset). I honestly feel really lucky that I get to pass this little piece of beauty everyday and even overlook it when we have lunch on the roof (again you’ll spot this view on my Snapchat)…
Around the park has so many perfect spots for taking pictures, so I was so happy when Christina met me after work to get these pics (while the cherry blossoms were still going strong). My next goal is to actually get into the park to shoot. Stand by for that…
Just a quick few words on my outfit… summer is just around the corner and I am FREAKING OUT about my work wardrobe. I can kind of wear whatever I want as long it’s presentable, but I really can’t rock up in the type of clothes I would normally wear to deal with New York’s extremely sticky humidity. After a mini wardrobe panic I ran to Forever 21 and picked up this sleeveless shirt and these shorts. I looooove spring because it means you can have fun with your clothes (like layering a shirt over a shirt). I think this shirt will make a great light weight layering piece/cover up over the next few months.
I hope you guys are having a good week. Keep an eye out for a less pale me in my upcoming Miami outfit posts,
