Friday Five: 5 Things I’m Excited For This December

Happy Friday & Happy December!! I am obviously very very very excited for the next few weeks as the festive season gets into full swing. I kicked off December by making my first trip to the Rockefeller Tree last night (it’s still on my Snapchat – lcscloset) and I honestly think it’s best tree I’ve seen yet! This is my third Christmas living in New York and I really don’t think the tree will ever get old. It really is spectacular and that whole area around the Rockefeller Center, although crazy busy, is just so festive and magical – I can’t get enough of it.

As excited as I am for December, I cannot believe it’s already here. I only have 2 more weeks left in New York before I head home for Christmas and you better believe I’m going to make the most of it. Although I’ve already done a lot of the best things to do in New York at Christmas, there are still a few major things I have yet to tick off my NYC Christmas list. My plan is to try my best to tick them off this year, as well as doing all of the other Christmassy bits. I have a lot planned, so here are 5 things I’m excited for this month…

1. Dyker Heights

It’s a bit of a trek and I haven’t worked out how to get there yet, but I am going to try my utmost to make it to Dyker Heights this year. This place looks like an absolute Christmas lovers dream.

2. Rolf’s German Restaurant

I have been in Rolf’s before but it was after Christmas, so it wasn’t quite the same. I can’t even imagine how long it takes to put up all these decorations but I do know they have been since at least September and won’t be taken down until March (or maybe even after), so they get good use out of them.

The queues are usually a little crazy in the run up to Christmas but fingers crossed I’ll get lucky some night and will be able to get in.

3. The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular

The Rockettes… OMG!! I don’t even know where to start with how amazing this show is. It is AMAZING!!!!!! And I’m not just saying this because I love Christmas. I saw it 2 years ago for my first Christmas in New York and it is truly a spectacular production. You will leave dancing out of Radio City and wanting to be a Rockette.

The plan is to go with the girls before we go home and I cannot wait! It’s SO GOOD… I mean they have live animals on stage (apparently there’s stables in Radio City to house them!).

4. Soaking Up The Festiveness

Of course! This one will be easy and I am going to take in as much festiveness as is physically possible over the next few weeks.

5. Going Home

Finally, of course I am beyond excited to be going home! I can’t believe it’s only 2 short weeks away. I have so much to pack in here before I go but I am so excited to go home and see my family and friends, have some of my mothers cooking, chill out in front of the open fire, sleep in my bed, drink too many cups of tea, and to just have some peace and quiet for a few weeks. It’s gonna be bliss!

Let the countdown to Christmas begin…
