Finally, I’m back with my first post of 2016. To say things have been a little hectic since I got back to New York is an understatement. It’s all good though… I had an amazing (and super relaxing) Christmas at home and, thankfully I didn’t really get too homesick when I came back to New York (it would have been pretty hard to beat the homesickness from the last time in fairness!). To be honest, I ate so much food over Christmas that I was looking forward to getting back to normality.
I’m also really excited to get stuck into 2016. 2015 will be pretty hard to top, but I’m going to give it my best shot! There’s already a few trips in the pipeline and first up is a skiing trip next weekend! A group of us are heading upstate for a few days on the slopes. It should be VERY interesting because I’ve never been skiing before! It’s also looking like I’m going to have lots of visitors this year, which is SO exciting. I love having visitors because it’s the perfect excuse to re-do all the touristy things (it never gets old!). So there’s lots to look forward over the next 12 months. Be sure to follow along on Instagram and Snapchat (@lcscloset) to keep up with all of my adventures…
On a different note, the weather in New York so far this winter has been amazing! Compared to last year, we’re having practically subtropical conditions. Last winter I pretty much dressed for survival, but this year I can actually wear what I want. Of course I’m loving it because it means I get to show off all my new bits. And I’m wearing lots of new pieces here! My SheIn grey coat is new and my skirt, top and beautiful faux fur stole (see it in this post too) are all from Dorothy Perkins. I have a slight obsession with all things high neck and faux fur, so I HAD to have these bits. I’ve also been on the hunt for the perfect leather skirt for the longest time and I finally found this one on the site before Christmas! It really is perfect… Not too long, not too short and it fits like a glove!
You know, one of the things I miss most about home is not having easy access to my favourite high street shops! Thank god for online shopping is all I’ll say! My bank account mightn’t be to happy with me, but at least I can still pick up pieces from my favourite stores… Even if they are across ‘the pond.’
Have a great weekend,
p.s. Did you notice I got my hair chopped? 🙂
